Adult Hockey

The International Skating Center of Connecticut is pleased to bring you a staff with years of experience. Our elite crew includes college coaches, former hockey pros, former Olympians, the best college, high school and triple A hockey players coaching around. All of our coaches have proven themselves successful at helping players bring their game to the next level.

The ISCC Adult Hockey program offers a wide range of opportunities to play hockey on a year-round basis at every level, from our A & B Men's League program to our new Women's Weekly and 40+ no contact programs. Whatever your ability or experience, you have an open invitation to get involved, either by joining a team, or integrating your existing team into the league.

Open Ice Hockey

This program is designed for players of all ages that want to work on puck handling, shooting, passing, skating and other skills in a non-game situation. Full equipment is required and No pickup games are allowed. Instruction is not included. Any skater under the age of 18 must have a parent sign a liability waiver form.

Private Lessons are available during Open Hockey. Maximum Group Size is 3 . A private hockey coach can not instruct more than 3 students at a time on an open hockey session. Team practice sessions or workouts are not allowed. Instructors must pay the admission fee unless they are pre-approved. An area of the ice may be sectioned off to run these sessions. Cost - $12.00/session/person. Goalies are free if they come with 3 other skaters.

Adult Hockey League

  • 10 games
  • Competitive games

General game rules:

- 3 minute warm-up, 3 fifteen periods, 

- A player shall be removed from the game on his 4th total penalty of that game.

- Communication with Referees is to be undertaken by the team captain only.

- Any player deemed to be harassing a referee will be subject to an immediate technical penalty.

- Fighting is an immediate ejection from the game and can lead to suspension from the league.

- All suspensions are at the discretion of the League Commissioner.

 

Playoff Rules:

Same as regular season except:

-  Overtime shall be 3 minutes, sudden death. If necessary, a 3-man shootout, then single elimination shootout will determine the winning team.

- All players must be on the team's own roster to be eligible for playoffs.

- Fighting is automatic ban from the rest of playoffs.

 

Leagues:

A - 18 and over with the highest level of skill (i.e. Pro & College Experience)

B - 18 and over with above average skill; NO Pro experience or Division 1, 2, or 3 experience within 5 years of last game played

 

All games are overseen by a referee and play a regular game format of three 15 minute periods.

40+ Program

 

Mondays and Thursdays, 8:00pm

 

NO Pro experience or Division 1, 2, or 3 experience. This is a no contact, no slapshot game intended for the player seeking a controlled environment to play hockey for recreational fun and exercise.  

 

All games are overseen by a referee.

Adult Stick Time

 
Organized Stick Time:

ISCC offers an organized pickup game that runs on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00am-7:20am. Affectionately named the "Hockey Before Breakfast Athletic & Social Club", this skate is a full ice game open to skaters of any age or level of play. Organized by local players, this is a relaxed, no contact full ice skate (often with 2 goalies). If you can get up early, this is great exercise with a fun bunch of people. All you need to do is show up!

 

Requirements:
1) FULL equipment strongly recommended - including hockey pants, hockey gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, shin guards, and helmet with shield.
2) All skaters must be at least 16 years of age. 16-18 year old skaters must have a special waiver signed by parent or guardian.
3) All skaters must have a signed standard athletic waiver on file.
4) All skaters must show a photo ID card with birthday as proof of age when requested.
5) All stick time play is no check.
6) Locker rooms must be left clean and undamaged.
7) ISCC is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. Rental lockers are available in the Olympic rink.

Cost $12.00 -- Goalies are FREE!! -- Sessions are 1hr 20min
