INTERNATIONAL SKATING CENTER OF CONNECTICUT

LEGENDS MADE HERE

LEGENDS FUND

The International Skating Center of Connecticut was built in 1994 as a world-class training facility for both Olympic level skaters and the local hockey community.

With the amount of usage throughout the years, the facility needs constant attention and maintenance to not only keep the doors open but to create the high-quality facility that our athletes deserve.

What a difference a year can make! Under new ownership established on 11/19/2021 by BMW Sports LLC, the facility is finally getting the attention it so desperately needed. There have been many improvements to the facility in the past year including:

· Improved ice surfaces and maintenance practices
· “New” (refurbished) Olympia ice resurfacers and edging equipment
· New hot water system installed
· New HVAC, Dehumidification, and Condenser systems on their way
· Upgrades to Sk8terZ Café
· Updated lobby bathrooms
· New floors in the lobby, restrooms and Sk8terZ Café
· New bleacher heating systems for both rinks (on the way!)
· New LED lights throughout the facility including both ice surfaces
· New sound system being installed for both rinks, lobby, and Sk8terZ café
· Exterior landscaping improvements
· New street sign
· New Fitness Center / Gym for public membership
· New Legends Banquet Hall open for events and sports viewing
· Improved viewing to both rinks from the second floor
· Outdoor Pavilion being constructed
· Handicap accessible ramp and standing room ‘cheer section’ in NHL rink
The new ownership is not done yet, there are many more improvements and exciting projects to come.

Many patrons, families, and athletes from past and present have reached out to offer their help. There are no words to express our gratitude to the community for the outpouring of support!

As a result, we’ve established the “Legends Fund” where 100% of all gift donations will be used to support current and future rink renovations and improvements. The goal is to create a pathway for individuals, families, and small businesses to partner with us to make the ISCC the premier skating facility in the region and continue to impact the lives of the young athletes who inspire to be future legends.

The “Legends Fund” will be operated and supported by BMW Sports LLC. As an LLC, all donations to the fund are considered gifts and are not tax deductible.

Donations to the “Legends Fund” will be celebrated by tiles with donor names and personal messages to be installed within the main entrance wall of the ISCC.
