Who is Summer of Gold for?
Open to skaters Pre-Preliminary and higher. We tailor our coaching to meet each skater’s needs.
What is included in the price?
Includes on-ice and off-ice classes, program analysis, and access to our expert-level coaching team.
Is the skating pass required?
No, the unlimited skating bundle is optional but is required if you are planning to schedule private lessons or time to practice.
What is the unlimited skating pass?
This pass will allow skaters the ability to skate on Open Figure Skating Sessions that are in between the scheduled group classes. These sessions are where skaters’ private lessons will be held.
What is the duration of Summer of Gold?
Summer of Gold runs from July 21st until August 1st, 2025, with the option to sign up for either week individually or both weeks together.
What are the hours of Summer of Gold?
On-ice sessions start the day off at 8:00 am and sessions will end by 1:30 pm. Exact schedules will be sent to registered participants closer to day one.

What can I expect from the coaching staff?
You’ll receive expert feedback and personalized training to improve your technique, skills, and programs. Our coaches will work with you to ensure maximum progress.
Will I receive personalized coaching?
Yes! Coaches will provide feedback and adjustments during the on-ice group sessions, and our coaches also offer private lessons during the week.
Who is Summer of Gold suitable for?
Summer of Gold is designed to cater to Pre-Preliminary skaters and up.
Logistics & Accommodations
Is there any accommodation available for out-of-town skaters?
Our partners at the International Hotel, just 10 minutes away from the ISCC, will have rooms available for reservation starting February 2025. These accommodations include common areas and kitchen access, ideal for Summer of Gold participants.
What should I bring to Summer of Gold?
Please bring your skates, comfortable workout clothes for off-ice training, a water bottle, jump ropes, and any other personal gear you might need. We recommend layers for varying temperatures in the rink.
Will food be provided during Summer of Gold?
Meals are not provided, but Sk8erz Cafe will be open for healthy options. Participants can also bring their snacks and lunches.
Pricing & Payment Options
What is the cost of Summer of Gold?
The cost of Summer of Gold for all classes for two weeks is $775. There is also an optional unlimited skating bundle for an additional cost of $350.
Are there discounts available for early registration?
Yes! We offer an early bird discount for registrations completed before April 1st, 2025. Check our pricing section above for more details.
What is the refund policy?
We offer a full refund if you cancel before May 1st, 2025. After that, refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis, minus processing fees.
Health & Safety Questions
What safety measures are in place at the Summer of Gold?
We follow strict health and safety protocols, including rink safety rules, off-ice guidelines, and emergency procedures. Our staff is trained to handle any situations that may arise.
What happens if my child gets injured during the Summer of Gold?
If an injury occurs, our staff will follow the appropriate emergency protocol, and you will be immediately contacted. We recommend that all participants have personal health insurance coverage.

BALLET FOR FIGURE SKATERS. Hosted by the ISCC Skating Club. Join us weekly in the ISCC Fitness Center before Club Ice sessions for a special Ballet for Figure Skaters class led by ISCC's Meghan McDermott.
This class focuses on flexibility, balance, and core strength-key elements in figure skating. Ballet improves body alignment, enhances grace, and boosts overall strength, helping you glide with more precision and power on the ice. Perfect for all levels, this class will support your skating goals while offering a fun, off-ice training experience.
Meet Meghan: Meghan McDermott (she/her) is a Hartford Conservatory graduate with a double major in dance performance and pedagogy. She is a choreographer, performer, and co-founder of IMMIX Dance Project, with experience dancing for notable Connecticut companies such as SOMA Dance Company, dancEnlight, Sonia Plumb Dance Company, and Justice Dance Performance Project. Meghan has performed in renowned festivals and events, including the 5x5 Dance Festival, Ted Hershey Dance Marathon, and the Boston Dance Festival.
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Meghan has worked in various schools, workshops, and residency programs across Connecticut, Oklahoma, and New York. She has served as a teaching artist and director with Justice Dance Performance Project programs, focusing on literacy, movement, and community building. Meghan was also part of the Dance Faculty at Westminster School (2015-2022) and has choreographed and taught at esteemed institutions such as The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, University of St. Joseph, and Kingswood Oxford School.
Certified in barre instruction with STOTT Pilates, Meghan extends her passion for movement to the fitness world, teaching at LIFER Fitness Studio and ISCC Fitness Center. Her career reflects a commitment to performance, education, and the transformative power of dance.
