Join Dr. Armin McCrea-Dastur, PhD, a sport psychologist and leadership consultant with decades of experience working across elite athletics, higher education, and global organizations, for The Positive Power of Parents: Promoting Mental Well-Being and Peak Performance.
Dr. McCrea-Dastur holds a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from the University of North Carolina and a PhD in Organizational Leadership. Her background includes consulting during a National Championship season at UNC, working within professional sport environments including the NFL and NHL, and advising high-performing leaders and teams across major global organizations. As Founder and President of Diamond Consulting Corp., she specializes in mental toughness, resilience, team dynamics, and performance enhancement.
In this engaging session, Dr. McCrea-Dastur will explore the critical role parents play in shaping an athlete’s confidence, mindset, and emotional well-being. Parents will gain practical tools to foster resilience, manage performance pressure, communicate effectively, and create a supportive environment that allows young athletes to thrive both on and off the ice.
Virtual Test Session
A Rolling Virtual Test Session allows skaters to complete U.S. Figure Skating tests by submitting a recorded video rather than testing live at the rink. This flexible option is ideal for skaters who need more scheduling freedom, do not have access to in-person test sessions, or prefer to test when they feel most prepared.
Skaters may record their test at a time and rink of their choosing, following U.S. Figure Skating virtual testing guidelines. Once the recording is complete, the skater submits their application, required permissions, and video for review. All tests are evaluated by official U.S. Figure Skating judges, just as they would be during an in-person test session.
Because this is a rolling test session, there is no single test date. Applications and videos are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing skaters to test throughout the year rather than waiting for a scheduled session. Results are emailed after the judging panel has completed its review.
All skaters must be eligible to test under the current U.S. Figure Skating rulebook and must submit complete paperwork for their application to be processed. After registering, skaters will receive the test application via email. Once the completed application is returned, an invoice will be added to the skater’s account. Upon payment, the test submission process will be finalized. Video recordings will be submitted through a Google Drive link, which will also be emailed along with the application.
